O+A Oficina de Arquitectura is an architectural firm dedicated to both design and
Project delivery. The firm was created in 2002 motivated by superior design quality,
technical excellence and the efficiency of its buildings.
O+A is dedicated to finding optimal solutions to complex design problems, and to
providing the highest quality products for its clients. We are consistent with being

friendly designs that satisfy immediate needs, yet are flexible and responsive to
change. A close working partnership involving the client consultants and the firm’s
design team operates at every stage of the planning, design and construction process.

O+A believes architecture to be shaped by the objective requirements of function
and economy in harmony with the environment, a commitment to superior materials
and craftsmanship, attention to detail and sensitivity to abiding aesthetic values.

The firm works together with consultants coordinating all trades to insure the project
functions as well as it looks from commencement of the design until the completion
of construction, with the common objective of serving the best interest of the client.

LEADERSHIP
Antonio Cardona obtains his BA in architecture in Universidad Autónoma de Centroamérica,
Costa Rica, and works for a local firm. He moves to Chicago where he obtains a Masters
Degree in Architecture, specializing in High Rise Buildings at the Illinois Institute
of Technology, IIT.
He continues his professional career, incorporates as junior architect in Fujikawa
Johnson and Associates, works in the design of mix-use high rise buildings (commercial,
office, residential and hotel). He is promoted to associate architect and participates
in the design competition for the Wolf Point Center, wins first place and the firm
in partnership with the Architect I.M. Pei (PCF Architects) is awarded with the
design contract.
In 2000 he becomes manager for The Habitat Company, one of the largest developers
of the mid-west.
He moves to Florida and joins Sieger Suarez Architectural Partnership, wher he works
in the design of high rise residential buildings: condominium and hotel.
In 2002 he returns to Costa Rica and starts his own architectural practice: O+A
Oficina de Arquitectura, in which important developments are designed. Wins design
competitions for a 35,000 m², 25 story high rise residential, and a 4,000 m² Reserva
Conchal Beach Club, Guanacaste.
Currently, he is committed to consolidate O+A as one of the leading architecture
firms in the region.
